Rest to Remember: Intro to Yoga Nidra Workshop - Part One

Part One

TOPIC

Y’all, we loved this workshop so much! We are not lying when some of us said we don’t remember ever feeling so rested after the Yoga Nidra practice. Wow.

This is the first of our two-part Yoga Nidra workshop taught by Holy Shift senior teacher Shawn Moore. Here’s what to expect in this session:

  • What is Yoga Nidra?

  • Definitions and Origins

  • Yoga Nidra Practice - 61 Points

  • Q&A and Debrief

We also explored yogic philosophy, emerging research, and how yoga nidra works with all of the layers of our being to bring us into union with our true nature. Yoga Nidra translates to “yogic sleep.” But it is so much more than that. This method of deep relaxation is a rich tool of inner connection and transformation. Whether you need some space to rest, or you are curious to learn more about this method of deep relaxation, this workshop is perfect for you!

😴 If you’d like to do the practices:

Have a yoga mat available, as well as some relaxation props, including (but not limited to) pillows, blankets, eye pillows, or whatever else may feel good.

Exclusive to Holy Shift.

Shawn Moore resides at the intersection of leadership and mindfulness. Shawn is a yoga teacher, sound and reiki practitioner, meditation teacher, Yoga Nidra facilitator, and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, all focused through a Buddhist lens and 17 years of personal practice. In addition to holding community space through classes, he provides training in leadership and strengths-based development, and workshops in mindfulness, meditation and sound healing.

Shawn has worked in higher education and student affairs for over 10 years, with a particular focus on diverse populations. He has contributed workshops, practices, and educational opportunities for celebrities like Questlove, and various yoga studios and colleges, Yoga International, Omstars, Melanin Moves Project, the Human Rights Campaign, Spotify and Lululemon.

While being a proud dog dad, a hardcore gamer, and lover of all things anime, Shawn also hosts a podcast called The Mindful Rebel® Podcast that creates a platform to continually explore this unique intersection of leadership and mindfulness.
